On February 14, 1964, on the eve of the commissioning of the Sterlitamak chemical plant (currently the production of "Kaustik" JSC "Bashkir Soda Company"), to provide scientific and technical support for the chemical plant, a branch of the State Research Institute of the Chlorine Industry was established in the city of Sterlitamak ( GNIIHP).
